Journal & Ramblings

an outlet for the soul...

I am officially on my summer break! Well, actually, I have been for the past three weeks or so. I just completely spaced out, and I wasn't able to get any post up. One to two posts a month is definitely something I really want to change if I want to stay dedicated on here, but laziness is something I combat everyday, and that is something I'm definitely not proud about.

To me, blogging is simply a hobby that I consider as a place where I can express my creativity and imagination, and with that, I try to pour my maximum amount of effort to every single entry I write. The problem is, is that if I begin keeping a schedule for writing posts, blogging would start to feel like an obligation for me rather than a creative outlet, and since I am a naturally lethargic person, I would probably start to dislike blogging, and it would feel like a tiresome burden.

I recently got hold of what I feel like is the coolest journal ever(yeah, I know, not really haha). I seriously have been wanting to get myself a journal for the longest time. I feel like each of us should consider keeping a journal at least once in their lifetime. Just like blogging, I've always thought of journals as an outlet for me where I can pour my heart and soul into. It's a place where I can fully express myself, and I can bask in the good days, and talk about the bad ones with hopes that in a few years after writing the entry, I'd be able to laugh them off. I've kept numbers of diaries and journals in the past, but I've always ended up either losing them or completely forgetting about them. I think the main reason for that is I use plain notebooks as my journals before, and they usually end up getting mixed with my notebooks for school.

The journal I'm using was purchased at Parfois, and I'm 90 percent sure it was on sale during the time I bought it which was a few weeks ago, but I'm not completely sure because I can't recall seeing a red tag on it. The thing about this journal is that it was made to be used for the year 2014, and obviously, I'm way too late because it's already a year later, and this is why it was probably on sale. But really, it's all good, aside from that one page that says 2014, it's completely functional, and all I can say is I'm excited to document future memories.

I'm also incredibly excited to finally 'begin' my summer vacation next week and hop on a plane to my homeland :). I'll try to keep you updated! xx

  2. I really like the idea of keeping a journal, I was planning on starting one at the beginning of 2015, but of course all did not go to plan haha. One thing I'm always bad with is keeping up with journalling everyday!

  4. I keep so many journals, some filled to the last page, some halfway, and some just barely written. But I still keep them because I just love writing so much <3

  5. Kyle, I wanted to stop by and say thanks for following my blog! I really appreciate that.

I also wanted to tell you that you're a very talented web designer -- this blog is gorgeous! I've never been very good about keeping up with journaling myself ... but if I view it as just something to do when I'm feeling bad, then it sometimes goes better ;)

  9. At the start of the year I bought a 2015 planner which I used it religiously for a good 2 months, but I've since forgotten about the existence of it :') Having said that, I hope YOU prove successful in your journalling! xo

  11. Gorgeous journal! I love buying journals but I always forget to write in it. The only successful way I've been able to write in a journal is on an app or on my blog! But journalling is really SO important. I'm an art journaler and it is my LIFE.
