PHILIPPINES 2015: DAYS 1 to 3

the first of many(hopefully) travel journals...

April 5, 2015 - April 6, 2015
After getting off a 9-hour flight from Riyadh, we literally just stayed at home and didn't do much for the rest of the day even though the sun was still up. Yup. That sentence just about summed up my entire day.

On our first official day in the Philippines for our summer vacation '15, we spent the day in a mall. Well, half of it, really. The first thing I looked for when I stepped in was a Daiso store because I was told they had one at that certain mall(Robinsons Ortigas), but truth be told, I was a little disappointed. The first reason was that I had to race to the ends of the entire mall to find the shop. It was tucked in a corner on the far end of the third floor, and I went on the other end. Guess I should have checked the mall's map. Well, yeah, I admit, that was entirely my fault. The other reason was that they didn't have the stuff that I wanted at that branch. I was mostly looking at the stationery section because I wanted to get some supplies for my crafts, but they didn't have them. I did get one thing from Daiso though, and I'll tell more about it on a future post.

I went in and got a much needed haircut after that. Me being me, forgot the name of the salon, but I knew it started with V. Vivere was it? I'm so sorry. Anyway, I got my hair cut short a few inches for a neater(methinks) look. I've been growing my hair out for two years! Although tt's length was starting to annoy me a bit, I'll probably miss it.

Before leaving the mall, I saw a book sale on the first floor, and of course, I couldn't resist not taking a look.  Lastly, we went to a car place(not really sure what to call it, sorry!) to handle, you know, car stuff. haha.

For the first time in forever, I entered a college! Well, I didn't really entered a college, I just entered a college. Did that make sense? Probably not, but what's new? My sister who just graduated from high school is about to embark on her college life as a student enrolled in UST. Their campus is immensely huge with vast numbers of students milling around every corner. I really wish I took more snaps though; their campus is glorious! Maybe next time?

And yeah, that was how my first few days in the Philippines were spent. I know it wasn't that exciting, mostly chilling and a lot of resting really, but hopefully we'll get to do really cool stuff in the next few weeks! And now, all I can say is, it feels good to be home!

Your turn! Tell me, how would you describe an ideal summer day?
